The turn of the 20th century a furniture department store, D.H. Brand & Co, was built at the site of the old City Market. Ajax Management reimagined the historic downtown building to 35 upscale loft and flat style apartments with office and retail on the ground floor. Ajax incorporated the unique architectural details of the building with hardwood floors and soaring ceilings. The Commonwealth offers a fitness center, resident lounge and laundry facilities.
